A message from Dean Hulsey - April 3, 2020

When talk of COVID-19 began, I don't think anyone imagined to the extent our lives would need to change in order to keep the spread down to protect our communities, our families and our friends.

But as I have learned during my time at WVU, our School of Nursing faculty and staff can rise to any challenge - even if it means completely changing the way we work, we instruct, we communicate and we collaborate. I am proud of how our team on all our campuses have navigated these turbulent times while remaining committed to educating and supporting all of our students. Implementing such a large-scale shift to how we operate was, and is, truly a team effort.

Our nursing students have logged in, tuned in and are quickly learning that planning and preparation in health care can sometimes change on a dime. All of our students are taking classes online, including their clinical requirements. They are resilient as nurses need to be in good times and in times of trouble. Some are continuing to work in our health care facilities, others are volunteering their time and talents to help in their communities and all of them are true professionals in every sense of the word.

Stay well!
