MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — The West Virginia University School of Nursing is proud to announce its first Evidence-Based Practice & Quality Improvement (EBPQI) Lectureship, "Moving Mountains: Advancing Evidence to the Bedside & Beyond."
The event, set for Nov. 5, 2026, will welcome Dr. Julee Briscoe Waldrop as the keynote speaker. The goal of the lectureship is to bring together students, faculty, and nursing professionals to explore current trends, strategies, and innovations in evidence-based practice and quality improvement.
“We invite all student nurses and nursing professionals to join us for this exciting new lectureship,” said Dr. Tara Hulsey, Dean and E. Jane Martin Endowed Professor. “This event underscores the importance of lifelong learning — one of our key values at the WVU School of Nursing.”
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Waldrop, a nationally recognized nurse scholar and leader in evidence-based practice and implementation science. She serves as professor emeritus at the University of North Carolina School of Nursing and is known for her extensive work advancing nursing practice through evidence, quality improvement, and systems transformation.
Additionally, a student poster session and reception will be held to showcase EBP, QI, and EBPQI projects from nursing students across all levels. Students are strongly encouraged to participate. Full poster submission details will be announced in May 2026, with a submission deadline in August 2026.
“Please save the date for November 2026 and join us in celebrating the remarkable work of our nursing community as we advance evidence-based practice and quality improvement,” said Dr. Billie Vance, Director of EBPQI at the WVU School of Nursing.
