School of Nursing offers continuing ed course focused on mental health care

Registration is now open for the 6-week online course, “Recognizing and Treating Mental Health Conditions in Primary Care”

The course, starting October 4, 2021, is designed to provide nursing continuing professional development for nurse practitioners providing primary care. The training focuses on education related to care of adult patients with mental health needs.

Nurses who successfully complete the course will receive 15.2 contact hours (5.5 pharmacotherapeutic hours, and 9.7 non-pharmacotherapeutic hours).

Cost is $200 and includes continuing education credit, a certificate of training and two optional online meetings to discuss questions with the lead course faculty. Course content is available online in the WVU SOLE Classroom.
