WVU School of Nursing’s Beckley Campus Chair named one of WVU Tech’s 2026 Alumni of the Year

BECKLEY, W. Va. — Hillary Parcell, WVU School of Nursing Beckley Campus Chair, has been named one of WVU Tech’s Alumni of the Year.

A 2008 graduate from WVU Tech, Parcell earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has since earned her Master of Science in Nursing in 2011, and she is currently working toward her Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies.

“I am truly honored to receive this award,” Parcell said. “It reflects not only my journey but also the incredible support from my colleagues, students and fellow alumni of WVU Tech. Together, we’re dedicated to improving the healthcare of southern West Virginia and I hope I can inspire future generations of nurses to do the same. Let’s go!”

Parcell began her career as a nursing faculty member at a private university before returning to WVU Tech, where she now serves as the campus chair.

She has a passion for helping southern West Virginians. In her role as a nursing professor and chair, she hopes she can impact the lives of her students and the patients they will care for and become excellent nurses in our community.

Other alumni award winners include Jamie Ridgeway, Candace Holcomb, Scotty Stone, and Tavon Johnson.

All alumni award recipients will be celebrated at a banquet at The Resort at Glade Springs on Feb. 20, 2026, as well as during the basketball games at the Raleigh County Convention Center on Feb. 21, 2026.
