Faith Community Nursing Update Course
The West Virginia University School of Nursing offers a Faith Community Nursing Update course for individuals who have previously taken the full Foundations of Faith Community nursing course. This course is designed to provide nurses who have taken the full course in the past, with access to the new evidence-based curriculum.
The nationally recognized faith community nursing course is also open to individuals who work as chaplains, pastors, social workers and others. However, only RNs who complete the course can use the title Faith Community Nurse.
School of Nursing faculty members Angel Smothers, DNP, APRN-BC, will oversee and facilitate the courses.
21 contact hours is being provided by the West Virginia University School of Nursing. The West Virginia University School of Nursing is an accredited as a provider of Nursing Continuing Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
About the Course
The course is offered online with School of Nursing faculty in Morgantown. The faith community nursing program is offered in four units of study with 28 total learning modules, including

Students can complete the program in as little as 4 weeks.
