Excellence in Academics

Our Bachelor of Science (BSN) program has been named a WVU Board of Governors Program of Excellence! This recognition encompasses all of our undergraduate programs, and the designation lasts for five years. All four criteria must be met in order to be recognized:

  • Distinction. Our program is consistently ranked as the No. 1 baccalaureate program in West Virginia by RegisteredNursing.org.

  • Faculty. Our expert faculty go above and beyond. Many hold advanced degrees and certifications, while simultaneously contributing significantly to scholarly work, service to the institution and community, and patient-centered care.

  • Graduates. The six-month job placement rate for our BSN grads entering the nursing workforce is currently 100%. They also continue to engage in scholarly activity such as presentations and publications.

  • Curriculum and Assessment. Nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), we most recently received the full ten-year accreditation in 2018 with no quality improvement needs noted.
