Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner
The Family Nursing Practitioner (FNP) specialty track prepares baccalaureate prepared nurses to certify as family nurse practitioners and offer care at the advanced practice level to a variety of populations and settings.
This 47 credit hour program is offered fully online, on a part- or full-time basis. Courses are offered via a variety of web-based modalities, both in asynchronous and synchronous distance education formats.
Students enrolled in the NSG 705 Advanced Lifespan Assessment course will be required to come to either the Morgantown or Charleston campus for a Physical Assessment Practicum day. Students must choose to come to either the Morgantown or Charleston campus on one of the following dates:
April 20, 2027 - Charleston/CAMC Skills Lab - 8am-6pm
April 21, 2027 - Morgantown Campus STEPS Center - 8am-6pm
April 22, 2027 - Morgantown Campus STEPS Center - 8am-6pm
April 23, 2027 - Morgantown Campus STEPS Center - 8am-6pm
Students enrolled in NSG 715-NP Experiential Learning are required to come to the Morgantown campus on Friday, July 16th and Saturday, July 17, 2027, for a 2-day NP-Intensive comprised of competency-based testing, simulation, additional assessment demonstrations, and hands-on skills practice.
Our graduates are prepared to offer care at the advanced practice level to a variety of populations and settings and are able to carry out all activities encompassed in the scope of practice of an advanced practice FNP.
Computer skills are required of all students, and access to adequate computing equipment is required.
