WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus students in NSG 411 recently worked their way through a tornado disaster simulation in the Kelley Rec Center. WVU Potomac State College President Jerry Wallace volunteered at the simulation, along with faculty, staff and community member volunteers who acted as victims.
Keyser Campus professor completes training to become a SANE nurse
Heather Dignan, an assistant professor at the WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus, recently completed training required to become an Adult/Adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE).
WVU School of Nursing highlights culture and health care in Spain during Global Health Week
During WVU Global Health Week 2025, the WVU School of Nursing welcomed faculty and students from the University of Barcelona to discuss health care in Spain. Senior nursing student and Morgantown Ambassador Bella Bock, who studied abroad in Spain last summer, also gave a presentation about the Mediterranean diet.
Work to begin on WVU Potomac State College Science Hall renovations
For 75 years, Science Hall on the campus of West Virginia University Potomac State College has served as a locus for experimentation and deep learning. Thanks to a combination of public and private support and cooperation across multiple entities, biology and chemistry laboratories will undergo a much-needed comprehensive renovation. The WVU Board of Governors approved the renovation project at their Nov. 7 meeting, greenlighting the modernization of classrooms.
WVU School of Nursing to host PBS documentary screening of “Picture Proof,” highlighting the impact of addiction
The WVU School of Nursing will host a free screening of the PBS documentary “Picture Proof” on Monday, Dec. 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Okey Patteson Auditorium at the WVU Health Sciences Center. The documentary examines the intergenerational impact of addiction by chronicling the life of a woman from southern West Virginia who is struggling to live a life of sobriety.
WVU nursing alumna, National Guard member finds purpose in critical care
What began as a desire to help others has grown into a fulfilling nursing career for Julie Arnold, a WVU School of Nursing alumna now serving patients in the cardiovascular intensive care unit at WVU Medicine’s J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Long-time Keyser Campus donor supports ambassador program
Elizabeth “Lib” Dickson, a long-time supporter of the WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus, is once again making an impact for current and prospective nursing students. Dickson’s generous $10,000 gift is supporting scholarships for the Keyser Campus Ambassador Program. The program, established in Fall 2022, provides scholarships to student ambassadors selected to represent the school during recruitment events and campus visits.

Registration is now open for the WVU School of Nursing's Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course for Spring 2026. The course, offered entirely online, will begin mid-February and run for eight weeks.
