WVU School of Nursing Beckley Campus along with WVU Institute of Technology recently hosted the Southern West Virginia Junior Nursing Academy.
Held Aug. 8 and 9, the event welcomed rising eighth, ninth and tenth graders. Students visited Raleigh General Hospital and Appalachian Regional Hospital, and learned CPR skills, visited with AirEvac professionals and more.
"This event is a great way for high school students to explore nursing as a career path," said Hillary Parcell, Beckley Campus Chair. "During the academy, students were able to participate in hands-on activities and ask questions to medical professionals in the field."
An award ceremony concluded the camp on Aug. 9.
