MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — Dr. Brad Phillips, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs at the WVU School of Nursing, has been selected to serve as a member of the Jonas Scholar Alumni Council for a two-year term.
“To be selected as a member of the 2025-2027 Jonas Scholar Alumni Council from a competitive pool of applicants is extremely rewarding,” said Phillips, who also serves as the Director of International BSN Programs and as an Assistant Professor.
The Jonas Scholar Alumni Council is a leadership group that consists of 10 alumni of the Jonas Scholar program selected to serve a two-year term. Created to amplify the enduring impact of the Jonas Scholars program, the Alumni Council serves as a vital force in building lasting connections among alumni, advancing professional development, and nurturing a vibrant, collaborative community of nurse leaders nationwide.
“As a 2018-2020 Jonas Scholar, I was not only provided with financial support to pursue a PhD, but also given opportunities for mentoring and networking with other Jonas Scholars and Jonas Scholar Alumni who shared a passion for nursing education, research, and practice,” Phillips said.
“Serving on the Jonas Scholar Alumni Council will allow me to give back to the organization, advance academic nursing, and represent the amazing things happening at the West Virginia University School of Nursing.”
The other 2025-27 council members include: Gerardo Flores, Rebecca Jones, Nia Josiah, Natasha Laibhen-Parkes, Joshua Minks, Sara Mithani, Abby Mutic, Tonychris Nnaka, Eleanor Rivera and Christie Simon-Waterman.
