The WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus hosted its Fall 2024 Pledge Ceremony on Oct. 8 at the Church McKee Arts Center for sophomore students who are officially entering the study of nursing.

In a show of community collaboration, the WVU School of Nursing's Student Nurses' Association (SNA), has partnered with Lilly’s Heart Pantry in Princeton to provide much-needed food and supplies to the residents of Mercer County. Courtney Riley has always had an interest in healthcare. Her academic journey at West Virginia University gave her experience in child development, psychology and communications, but her path took a turn and led her to the David and Jo Ann Shaw Center for Simulation Training and Education for Patient Safety.
During the summer, eight WVU School of Nursing faculty members completed the STEPS Simulation Certification Program. The certification, offered by the WVU David and Jo Ann Shaw Center for Simulation Training and Education for Patient Safety (STEPS), is designed for instructors with interest in quality teaching with simulation.
Tonya Thompson, DNP, RN has been named the recipient of the 2024 David H. Wilks Memorial Award for Excellence in Simulation presented by the West Virginia University David and Jo Ann Shaw Center for Simulation Training and Education Patient Safety.
