WVU Health Sciences Center Library hosts 'Imagining the West Side' Exhibit

West Virginia continuously falls at or near the bottom of national statistics when it comes to the social determinants of health including employment, poverty, education, and healthy food access…but why is that? Dr. Lauri Andress, assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy, Management, and Leadership in the West Virginia University School of Public Health, is exploring this question through her research on low wealth communities, community and economic development, and nontraditional ‘ policy analysis tools.’

WVU Student Association of Public Health celebrates National Public Health Week

In honor of National Public Health Week, April 3-9, the Student Association of Public Health will be hosting tabling events on the WVU Health Sciences campus. National Public Health Week is an initiative started by the American Public Health Association to honor and promote public health. School of Public Health interim dean Dr. Jeff Coben says, "Public health saves money, improves our quality of life, helps children thrive and reduces human suffering."

Delta Omega Annual Speaker

The WVU School of Public Health Delta Omega Annual Speaker event will be held this Friday, April 7, at 12 PM in HSC 1905. Dr. Loretta Cain, an epidemiologist and biostatistician at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, will be presenting "Ectopic Pregnancy in the Medicaid Population: Rates, Disparities, Complications, and Risk Factors". Vera Bradley Bingo Relay for Life fundraiser

The West Virginia University School of Pharmacy Relay for Life Team and the Lambda Kappa Sigma student organization will be hosting a Vera Bradley Bingo at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, in room 1909 at the WVU Health Sciences Center in Morgantown. Doors open at noon.

Spring cleaning and shred-a-thon

Many offices and labs at the Health Sciences Center are cluttered with outdated paper and other items. We’ve designated March 27-31 as our official Spring Cleaning Week. There will be extra help available from WVU Facilities to get your unwanted items out of the building (and your life!)
