Startup invites health professionals and public to opening Oct. 4

President E. Gordon Gee will officially welcome healthcare startup Good Measures to the WVU Health Sciences Innovation Center, at an open house from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 4. The Boston-based company established an office earlier this year WVU, located in the Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Center building on the Health Sciences campus.

WVU School of Nursing to offer faith community nursing education program

For many cities and towns, faith-based organizations are integral to the overall well-being of these communities. During the past 10 years there has been an enhanced interest from healthcare professionals to address the unique needs of these organizations. To address this growing area of specialization within the nursing community, the West Virginia University School of Nursing will launch a new faith community nursing certificate course in fall 2016.

WVU’s Women on Wellness retreat set for Sept. 24 in Marion County

The annual Marion County Women on Wellness (WOW) retreat, in partnership with the Mannington WOW Community Partnership planning committee and National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health at West Virginia University, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Market@WVU to open Thursday, August 25

Market@WVU – the new Health Sciences cafeteria – will open at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25. The new dining space will bring new food and beverage options to the campus.
