The WVU School of Nursing’s Sigma Theta Tau International Alpha Rho Chapter will celebrate its golden anniversary with a special celebration on Saturday, October 15, 2016, in Morgantown.

During the past 10 years there has been an enhanced interest from healthcare professionals to address the unique needs of these organizations. To address this growing area of specialization within the nursing community, the West Virginia University School of Nursing will launch a new faith community nursing certificate course in fall 2016.
Accomplished nursing professor and researcher Dr. Ubolrat “Diu” Piamjariyakul has been named Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship at the West Virginia University School of Nursing.

With a growing need for advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to serve patients in rural and underserved areas, the West Virginia University School of Nursing is implementing a new project to enhance educational and clinical experiences for advanced practice nursing students while addressing the complex healthcare needs of West Virginia.
As the healthcare industry continues to grow, the demand for highly skilled nurse leaders is also growing. Through a new dual degree master’s program at West Virginia University, future nursing leaders will be able to combine their passion for patient care with business management experience to fulfill unique roles in healthcare organizations.
This weekend, the nation will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Memorial Day. West Virginia University School of Nursing’s Dr. Sandra “Sam” Cotton will be one of two veterans to be honored during Star City’s annual Memorial Day observance.
