Faith communities aren’t solely places for worship and religion, according to West Virginia University research. They can also serve as conduits in addressing the mental health needs of congregants.
For Dr. Ashley Tasker, an assistant professor with the West Virginia University School of Nursing, addiction studies is a passion. “We’re surrounded by substance use disorder (SUD),” Tasker said. “We have to be part of the solution.”
