West Virginia University Health Sciences is recognizing twelve individuals and one team with Chancellor’s Awards, as well as two individuals with WISH (Women in Science & Health) Awards, for their significant contributions to its mission.
West Virginia University is sharing updated COVID-19 health and safety guidance as campuses across the WVU System prepare for the start of the 2022-23 academic year and the first day of fall semester classes Aug. 17.
The gift provides continued support for the Shaw STEPS Center, which has transformed health sciences education at WVU through experiential learning. The additional dollars will boost robotics resources and cross-disciplinary collaboration to ensure graduates are prepared to meet the latest demands of a career in health care.
“Scholarship contributors don’t understand how much their support affected me — it completely changed my summer and my experience here. It’s really generous and a really honorable thing to do. It’s something I plan to do as well.”
MORGANTOWN, WV (WVNS) – A West Virginia University (WVU) School of Nursing student delivered a surprise baby last month while working as an EMT, which she describes as an ‘unforgettable experience’.
Dedicated to fostering a more inclusive environment for students, faculty and staff that extends across West Virginia University and beyond, Courtney Lanham has been named director of diversity, equity and inclusion for Health Sciences.
West Virginia University School of Nursing faculty member and Bridgeport Campus Chair Veronica Gallo recently joined the Healthy Harrison Podcast for the "Change Your State" segment.
“Helping deliver this baby was the most fun EMS call I have ever been on in my almost six years of working on the ambulance,” said Tanner Colley. “I am very thankful for the help and guidance from my wonderful paramedic partner, Taylor, and of course what I learned in my OB classes and clinicals.”
Scholarship funds are available for 20 Mingo County nurses who would like to complete the Faith Community Nursing program. Taught by the WVU School of Nursing, Faith Community Nursing focuses on the intentional care of the spirit as part of the process of promoting holistic health and preventing or minimizing illness in a faith community.
