Educating Our Future Nurses
What made you consider nursing as a career?
I wanted to help people and make a difference. I was also inspired by my grandma who was a CNA and cared for my grandpa.
What set WVU SON apart from other colleges for you?
WVU has a good reputation, a great nursing program, and it was close to home.
Could you share a positive experience from your time at the SON?
One of the best things about the program was the availability of the professors. They were there for me. I never felt like I was doing this all on my own. I had great mentors.
What’s one piece of advice you would give your younger self?
Don’t be afraid.
Could you tell me more about your career?
I currently teach undergraduate students for WVU SON at the Keyser Campus.
How has your WVU SON education helped you in your career?
It has given me more confidence.
What’s next for you?
I love teaching. I will continue to teach nursing school and continue to build on my research.
