The West Virginia University School of Nursing’s Sigma Theta Tau – Alpha Rho honorary took home its first-ever Chapter Key Award during Sigma Theta Tau International’s 43rd Biennial Convention in Las Vegas earlier this month. Alpha Rho was honored with a Chapter Key Awards which honor chapters that excel in membership recruitment/retention; publicity and programming; professional and leadership development; and local, national and international collaboration.
This was the first time the School of Nursing’s Alpha Rho Chapter applied for and received the award. Lya Stroupe, DNP, APRN, CPNP, NEA-BC, Manager of Nursing Research and Professional Development at WVU Medicine Ruby Memorial Hospital, accepted the award on behalf of the Chapter.
Alpha Rho has initiated more than 750 undergraduates, graduate students, and community leaders since its inception in 1966. The Chapter is committed to fulfilling the society’s mission by inviting notable nursing leaders to share their insight on the latest trends in nursing. Alpha Rho also fosters scholarly inquiry by providing financial support of ongoing research and recognizing outstanding research efforts with an annual award.
