WVU School of Nursing raises $593,125 during fifth Day of Giving

During our fifth Day of Giving, the WVU School of Nursing received $593,125 from 120 donors!

Some of our noteworthy contributions include the following:

  • Rusty and Kimberly Hutson gave a $400,000 gift to support Faith Community Nursing — to provide nurse staffing support, equipment, renovations, training and resources needed to establish community nursing centers throughout West Virginia.
  • Natalie Bush’s challenge was met — because the School of Nursing received 100 donations on the Day of Giving, Natalie contributed an extra $50,000 scholarship in memory of her aunt Thelma Marion Ferrise.
  • E. Jane Martin, former Dean of the SON and former Provost of WVU, gave a $100,000 for the E. Jane Martin Psych Mental Health Nursing Scholarship.
  • The Beth Nass Tallman Scholarship reached its goal of $25,000 and will now become an endowed fund.

Across the WVU system, the School of Nursing ranked 9th on the "Amount Raised Leaderboard," which unlocked $10,000 in additional funding. Also, the School of Nursing ranked 15th on the "Participation Leaderboard," based on number of gifts given, which unlocked $2,500 in additional funding.

No matter your contribution level, we appreciate your support! We couldn't do what we do without you.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
