According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, rural Americans are more likely than their urban counterparts to die prematurely from the five most common killers: heart disease, cancer, unintentional injury, chronic lower respiratory disease and stroke. Telehealth—the use of technology to provide healthcare remotely—is an emerging way to combat these trends. And it’s growing in popularity.
On behalf of the WVU School of Nursing, I would like to send our sincerest sympathies to the Wykle family for the devastating loss of Delaney on July 4, 2019. We are ecstatic to announce that our research team's poster titled Rounding with Teams: Evaluation of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice was not only accepted to and presented at the Association of Operating Room Nurses' (AORN) Global Surgical Conference & Expo, but that our poster was presented the Research Poster First Place Blue Ribbon out of more than 300 posters! The theme of the conference was "Harmonized Care, the Key to Safety", which aligned perfectly with our presentation. The exercise will take place at the Towers Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) station and the elevated PRT guideway near the Erickson Alumni Center. The PRT will not be in operation that day. Some activity may be visible to those attending the Farmers Market on the WVU Health Sciences Center campus.
