  • English Composition – ENG 101 (3 credits)
  • Intro to Psychology – PSYC 101 (3 credits)
  • Intro to Nursing – NSG 100 (2 credits)
  • College Algebra – MATH 126 or Math 124 (3 credits)
  • Chemistry with lab – CHEM 111 or 115 (4 credits)
  • Chemistry with lab – CHEM 112 or 116 (4 credits)
  • General Biology with lab – BIOL 102/102L (4 credits)
  • Anatomy and Physiology – PSIO 107 (4 credits)


Note: Statistics is in the freshman progression plan but is not a prerequisite for admission to sophomore year.

Students must be enrolled in either BIOL 102/102L OR BIOL 115 and either CHEM 111 OR CHEM 115 in the fall semester of the freshman year, in order to take the required spring only prerequisite course, PSIO 107. Students who fail to complete the required prerequisite courses in the fall and spring of the freshman year will only be eligible for admission consideration for the fall start if they will have completed all prerequisite courses by the summer of their freshman year. Students may be considered for a spring start if they will have completed all prerequisite courses by the fall prior to admission into the program. Once beginning the nursing program, students must complete six semesters (fall and spring) of clinical coursework beginning with NSG 211 Health Assessment.
