Students at the WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus can earn their traditional four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, or they can pursue an LPN to BSN pathway.

Our Keyser Campus, located at WVU Potomac State College, offers a four-year BSN program complete with a state-of-the-art skills lab and simulation facility.

The program works closely with Potomac Valley Hospital, Garrett Regional Medical Center, J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Grant Memorial Hospital, Stonerise Keyser, Thomas B. Finan Center, UPMC Western Maryland, and many community sites to provide clinical training opportunities for nursing students in all years of nursing study.

Programs offered at the Keyser Campus

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Our program is recognized by health care agencies for providing excellent preparation for the nursing profession. Graduates are in high demand and enjoy a wide range of career opportunities. The Morgantown Campus posted a 99.18% first-time NCLEX pass rate in 2024.

Licensed Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Science

Designed to create a direct pathway for licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) and enter the registered nursing (RN) profession, we offer this program on our Beckley Campus, located at WVU Tech, and our Keyser Campus, located at WVU Potomac State College.

Online Programs

Doctor of Nursing Practice

Our program prepares nurses to practice at the highest level of professional nursing. Graduates advance the application of nursing knowledge through the translation and implementation of evidence for practice to improve health outcomes for diverse populations. This expert level practice builds on past advanced practice education, experience, and certification.

Doctor of Philosophy

The purpose of this Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program is to educate nurse scholar-scientists for research-intensive roles and is offered both part-time and full-time, composed of in-person and online learning components.

Foundations of Faith Community Nursing

This certificate course teaches participants how to improve health in faith communities, as well as to provide quality care to members of different faith backgrounds in the clinical care setting.

Holistic Nursing Care

This 8 week, fully online course provides nurses with an in-depth understanding of holistic nursing principles, theories, and practices. Designed for those interested in integrating holistic approaches into their nursing practice, the course explores key topics such as therapeutic communication, complementary and alternative therapies, self-care strategies, and culturally competent care.

Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner

The Family Nursing Practitioner (FNP) specialty track prepares baccalaureate prepared nurses to certify as family nurse practitioners and offer care at the advanced practice level to a variety of populations and settings.

Master of Science in Nursing - Leadership

The Nursing Leadership (MSN-NL) specialty track prepares nurses to shape the future of healthcare through visionary, evidence-based leadership. Designed for professionals ready to advance into influential roles, this program builds the knowledge and skills needed to lead with integrity, drive organizational change, and elevate the quality of care across diverse healthcare settings.

Nature-Based Nursing: The Art of Forest Bathing Micro-credential

Join the growing community of healthcare professionals using nature-based approaches to promote health, healing, and well-being. Designed for nurses and healthcare professionals, this micro-credential provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to integrate forest bathing and nature-based healing into healthcare settings.

Nursing Competencies and Networking in Addiction Care

The purpose of this activity is to provide nurses with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to function as case managers for a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program within community-based and primary care settings and to create a network of support for nurse care managers (NCM) in that role.

Post-Graduate Certificate

Our post-graduate certificate programs offer masters-prepared nurses the opportunity to earn a certificate in a family nurse practitioner specialty or a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specialty.

Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science

Our 100% asynchronous online program offers licensed registered nurses who are graduates of nationally accredited diploma and associate degree nursing programs the opportunity to complete requirements for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN).
