The West Virginia University School of Nursing has secured three of the top five best nursing school rankings in West Virginia for 2026 from RegisteredNursing.org for its three campuses offering the traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
The WVU School of Nursing’s Morgantown location received the No. 1 ranking, followed directly by the school’s Beckley Campus, located at WVU Tech. The Keyser Campus, located at WVU Potomac State College, received the No. 5 ranking.
“We pride ourselves on academic excellence at all campus locations of the WVU School of Nursing,” said Dr. Tara Hulsey, Dean and E. Jane Martin Endowed Professor. “We are grateful for this recognition from RegisteredNursing.org, as it illustrates the commitment of our faculty in preparing our students for success, as well as the dedication of our students to be the best nurses they can be.”
RegisteredNursing.org focuses exclusively on NCLEX pass rates for their ranking system, which highlights top institutions based on nursing students’ success in passing their licensure exams.
According to the most recent NCLEX data, WVU School of Nursing’s Morgantown Campus graduates earned a 99% first-time pass rate; the Beckley Campus earned a 100% pass rate; and the Keyser Campus earned a 96% pass rate.
RegisteredNursing.org said that data shows the number of nursing positions available to new nurses is projected to rise by 12% in the next 10 years in West Virginia.
