Meet Isabella.
What made you consider nursing as a program of study?
As long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a nurse. It has always been my plan. I enjoy helping others and being an essential worker. Knowing I can make a difference in someone’s life makes it all worth it!
Why did you choose WVU School of Nursing?
I heard many great things about the nursing program. I also heard it was very difficult to get in and I wanted to challenge myself.
Why did you choose your particular campus location?
I have been coming to Morgantown since I was little for the football games, so I became familiar with the environment and atmosphere. As I got older, I knew I wanted to be a mountaineer student here! It is crazy to think I will soon refer to myself as alumni.
Could you share a positive experience from your time at the SON?
I have met so many amazing people through nursing school that I am so thankful for. I would not have been able to get through this program without them. Having other friends in the same major makes all the difference!
What does scholarship support mean to you?
Scholarship support means so much to me. College is expensive, and many people are not able to go due to the costs. Receiving any scholarship, no matter the amount, goes such a long way and truly makes a difference.
If you could say something to potential scholarship donors, what would you say?
You are making such a difference and us students truly thank you and appreciate you. You are helping us achieve our dreams and are relieving some of that financial burden! Being awarded a scholarship is such an honor and, in my case, I am so proud to carry out Heather’s legacy!
What do you hope to do after graduation?
I hope to stay in Morgantown and work at Ruby for the time being. I am not sure of a specialty yet, so my options are still open!
Why would you recommend WVU SON to someone?
Ruby is a great hospital to learn and see many different things other hospitals may not offer. I have had so many great experiences here at WVU!
