Meet Ryan.

Why do you want to become a nurse?
I consider myself to be a social and caring person. I love making a person’s day better, especially when they are going through something rough. I have always had an interest in science and anatomy as well.
Why did you want to become an ambassador?
Being a senior nursing student, I wanted to make sure all the potential new nursing students got a great understanding of what this school is about and what it takes to be in the school of nursing. I also have a great relationship with many nursing professors and thought it would be a fun opportunity for me.
What would you like prospective nursing students to know about the WVU School of Nursing?
You will, without a doubt, be prepared for your real job after graduation. Nursing school can be challenging sometimes, but every mistake in school makes you a better nurse!
What’s your best advice for high schoolers interested in nursing?
Cramming for exams is a lot harder to do in nursing school. It is a much better idea to spread out studying over multiple days in smaller increments. This also helps you with time management skills!
Anything else you’d like to add?
Although challenging sometimes, nursing school has been a great experience! The friendships I have made along the way with other nursing students and faculty are some of best relationships I have ever made since they understand what you go through every day.
